For Participants

Become the kind of engineer the world is waiting for.

If you have studied — or are studying — engineering, computer science, design, or a related field, and you sense that the most interesting problems are the ones with people inside them, Designing for Change is for you.

Who this is for
  • Engineering and computer science students who want their work to matter beyond the lab
  • Designers and systems thinkers ready to test their ideas against real constraints
  • Early-career professionals looking for the skills no employer teaches you in onboarding
  • Curious, humble people who would rather understand a problem deeply than solve it quickly
What to expect

Real challenges

You will not work on a case study. You will work on something a real organization is genuinely trying to figure out.

Real people

You will sit with the people the work is meant to serve. Their lives are not a brief — they are the brief.

Real support

You will be mentored by facilitators who have done this kind of work and who will hold the structure that lets you do your best thinking.

Real growth

You will leave with capabilities that compound — and with a story about yourself that did not exist before.

What you'll develop
  • 01A practiced ability to understand stakeholders before judging solutions
  • 02Comfort with ambiguity and the discipline to act inside it
  • 03Communication that works across disciplines and lived experiences
  • 04A clearer sense of the kind of engineer you want to become
Frequently asked
Do I need to be an engineer?+

An engineering or technical background is a strong fit, but not the only one. We welcome people from adjacent fields who can contribute to and benefit from this kind of work.

How much does it cost?+

Cost depends on the program, partners, and any scholarships in place. We are committed to keeping access as wide as possible and will be transparent about pricing as each cohort is finalized.

Where will it take place?+

The first pilot is being developed in Germany. Future cohorts may take place elsewhere, depending on the partners and challenges involved.

How long is the program?+

Programs are designed as intensive, immersive experiences — long enough to genuinely engage with the context, short enough to fit alongside your studies or career.

Can I apply now?+
